Oyetola marks first year anniversary in office, lists achievements

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has marked his first year anniversary in office with Thanksgiving services in Mosque and Church.
The governor also seized the celebration to reveal some of the achievements his administration had made in the last one year.
Emphasising the uniqueness of the achievements, Oyetola said, “Our administration has raised the bar of governance across sectors”.
He said the administration was poised to build a prosperous state that would be an Eldorado for all and sundry as he was committed to promoting sustainable development through pragmatic, transparent, accountable and inclusive governance.
“We promise not to disappoint you; we will not let you down. We shall continue to justify your support by our achievements and impacts on the growth and development of our dear state.
“We will continue to do things that will impact your lives positively as we are resolute to build a prosperous economy for our state. As you all know, our commitment is already yielding results as reflected in the huge applauses and commendations received on our interventions across sectors most importantly in the areas of education, health, infrastructure, security and agriculture.
“We are doing excellently well in the area of social protection programmes as the initiative had been replicated by other governments. These are unmatchable  feats made so far. We are happy to be the leading light in our resolve to build the state economy and in all spheres of life,” Oyetola said.
Speaking on Friday at the Special Jumat Service, held at the Osogbo Central  Mosque, Oja Oba, Oyetola appreciated the people of the State for their unflinching support since the inception of the administration a year ago.
He acknowledged the hands of fellowship extended to him by the people of the state, saying their support has been the inspiration and motivation for the successes the government has recorded in the last one year.
Represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji  Bola Oyebamiji, Governor Oyetola attributed the successful implementation of some of the government policies and programmes  to the cooperation and support received from the people.
He called on the citizens and residents of the state to continue to key into the lofty programmes of the administration, which he noted are targeted at stimulating the economy and turning around the socioeconomic, political and infrastructure fortunes of the state for good.
Oyetola promised the administration’s commitment to fulfilling all the promises made by ensuring that every resident has a taste  of democratic dividends.
While assuring the people of the state of better days ahead, the governor said the government had mapped out strategic economic and developmental plans as roadmap to place Osun on the pathway of progress and development.
He said the administration will stop at nothing to retain, maintain and sustain the relative peace that the state is known for.
He further urged the citizens particularly the parents and guardians on the need to take proper care of their children and wards by giving them quality education and upbringing.
He said the administration would continue to pursue vigorously, things that would promote quality education, healthy living, adequate security, sustainable environment and improved economy and standard of living.
He also promised the administration’s commitment to continue to implement policies and programmes that will enhance people’s lives.
Also speaking at a Thanksgiving Mass held at St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral, Osogbo, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi  also enumerated the achievements recorded by his principal’s administration in the last one year.
He said the administration had achieved in the areas of health, education, road and infrastructure.
Speaking during the Mass, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, Most Rev John  Oyejola urged political office holders to always put the interest of the masses at heart.
The bishop then congratulated the governor and members of his cabinet on the anniversary.
