Suspected Fulani herdsmen kill civil servant while robbing commuters in Osun

A civil servant, Mr. Adenipekun Ademiju has been allegedly shot to death by some armed suspected Fulani herdsmen who were robbing commuters plying Ife/Ibadan road in Ikire, Osun state.
Ademiju was said to have been waiting for a bus that would transport him to Ibadan along the road in Ikire on Wednesday before some heavily armed suspected Fulani herdsmen stormed out of the bush and started firing gunshots.
The ugly incident happened around 11:29am.
Ademiju, said to be a civil servant at Atakunmosa West Local Council in Osun, was unluckily as he was gunned down by the robbers, a source told our correspondent.
Some motorists plying the road at distance to the scene of the robbery were said to have reversed on sighting the suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command, Folasade Odoro confirmed the death of the civil servant.
She said Ademiju was killed in Ikoyi community.
But a traditional ruler, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi land, Oba Yisau Bamitale Otunla said Ademiju was killed in Ikire around RATCON construction company in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun state.
