Money offered by gamblers, commercial sex workers, fraudsters in church is not acceptable – cleric
A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Adebayo has declared that God would not accept the offerings of those who take to gambling, sex and fraud as means of livelihood in the church.
The priest made this known on Friday while addressing participants at the 10th Annual Diocesan Youth Conference at St. Kizito Catholic College, Ikirun in Osun state on the topic: “Youth and Quest for Wealth.”
According to the cleric, “youths and in general, everyone who claims to believe in God should not indulge in prostitution, fraud and gambling. God detests these acts and Christians should not take to them.
On what whether God would accept the offerings and tithes that gamblers, fraudsters and commercial sex workers give to churches, Fr. Adebayo said God would not accept such offerings.
He said ” Yahoo Boys” money is blood money and should not be entertained in churches.
He said priests would not know the means of livelihoods of those who attend churches and give offerings but said that God, who knows them, would decline their offerings.
The priest therefore asked youths to shun all illegal and sinful means of making money and encouraged them to engage in legal labour and hardwork to be wealthy in life.
“Tithes and offerings paid through gambling, prostitution, internet fraud like Yahoo Yahoo are not acceptable by God. This money is blood money and God is not happy with such. So, youths, I advise you to say no to gambling, prostitution, internet fraud and other sinful and illegal means of accumulating wealth,” the priest said.
